IP Blocking - Comment Spam Protection
In a perfect world we'd all blog, and everybody who left comments on our blogs would be polite, kind and respectful.
However the world we live in has more than its share of spammers, trolls, and folks who just like a good flame war. For bloggers, this presents a real challenge, when trying to maintain the high-quality of blog entries and associated comments. One tool in the arsenal of bloggers to help prevent some of the above problems is IP Blocking.
Each computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique IP address which allows it to talk with the rest of the Internet. Every time someone leaves a comment on your blog, the IP address they came from is recorded along with their comment. As a blog owner you are able to see these IP addresses.
If for some reason you want to prevent someone from a specific IP address from commenting on your blog, you can use the IP blocking features of our blog products to block comments from those IP addresses.
